Yoga Nidra = TOTAL BLISS after an awesome day of activity on retreat!

As we prepare  everyday for our Summer of Vermont escapes, the Universe just keeps bringing me gifts. Today that gift was in the form of WENDY REESE.

Wendy knows The Green Mountains like the back of her hand, has been a yogi/yoga teacher for years & like everyone on our most brilliant team – she has found her calling in Yoga Nidra and I can’t wait to have her share it with you too.

Yoga Nidra  – ya, did a big question mark pop into your head? What’s that? Yep, me too. I’ve hard of it but honestly just never had time to look into it and now am wondering why I never took the time to?!!  Well things come into your space just when they are supposed to and on retreat we are excited to have the platform to introduce you. Perhaps like me, do you  live in the world of movement? Hatha, Bikram, Power, Flow, cross training, driving to and from baseall (lol) .. stretching and breathing (trying to) and on the go… Most of us do! but, after chatting with Wendy about her talents and what this yoga is, I already felt that it was the exact element we needed to add to retreat absolutely what I needed to add to my repertoire too. You see…

Yoga Nidra means: Yogic Sleep. It is a state of conscious Deep Sleep. In Meditation, you remain in the Waking state of consciousness, and gently focus the mind, while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations, and images to arise and go on. However, in Yoga Nidra, you leave the Waking state, go past the Dreaming state, and go to Deep Sleep, yet remain awake. PERFECT… how amazing after a long day of moving. How amazing to return from Retreat not only rested but with a new skill set to help you sleep better after retreat too?!!
